Buster XXL

Buster is a Finnish aluminium-boat marque with a range extending from small open boats to larger outboard-powered models. Its background lies in practical metal boatbuilding rather than traditional wooden yacht construction. That heritage connects today’s leisure boats with an industrial history spanning considerably more than the Buster name itself.

History and ownership. The story began with Kello aluminium boats at Kellokoski in the 1950s. Production at Inha Works in Ähtäri started in 1976, initially under the Fiskars name; the Buster name followed in 1977. Yamaha Motor acquired Inha Works in 2016. Under Fiskars, the works also made products such as hinges and railway couplings, before the business increasingly concentrated on boats.

Production and equipment. Aluminium boat production and outfitting take place at Inha Works. Yamaha ownership brought closer integration between the hull, outboard and onboard electronics, including the Buster Q display system on many models. Factory engine installation and testing also became part of that development. Older boats reflect earlier generations of construction and equipment, so the specification of an individual Buster should be read alongside its production year.
