Vindö 40

Vindö sailing yachts are Swedish cruising boats known for traditional lines, substantial timber interiors and comfortable long-distance accommodation. They appeal to sailors who value craftsmanship and a classic Scandinavian character as much as sailing performance.

History and ownership. Vindö was developed on Orust by Carl Andersson and became one of Sweden’s recognised builder names during the growth of Scandinavian yacht production. The boats were built in relatively small series, and individual histories often include careful maintenance and extensive refits.

Production and equipment. The yard combined moulded composite hulls with detailed woodwork, joinery and finishing. Rigs, engines, sails, hardware and electronics came from specialist suppliers, while later owners frequently upgraded systems without changing the boat’s fundamental character.
